Sydney's Baptism

My sweet little Sydney was baptised last Saturday and it was wonderful. The person filling up the font was not yet used to doing it and instead of setting the temp at 104 they accidentaly set it at 140. When I walked by the font I felt the hot steam and so I leaned down to feel the water. It was EXTREMELY hot. So I asked them to put some cold water in to cool it down a bit. I had no idea that you can't add cold or hot water, you just set the temp and the one spigot comes out of the water heater so there was nothing they could do. They didn't even have any ice in the freezer to put in it. When It was her turn to go down in, it took her about 5 minutes to go down the steps and get used to the water. Jason said that his legs were burning being in the water and Sydney is so short that the water came up to her chest. When Jason put her under, I felt such happiness but so sorry for poor Sydney. When she came up the stairs I wrapped her in a towel and said "well how do you feel" Sydney said "well.....I'm not cold!" When I took off her jumpsuit to get her changed, her body from chest down was bright red. The words "baptism by fire" came to mind. She looked so beautiful in her little white dress and the service was really beautiful. Chalise gave a wonderful talk on the Holy Ghost and she and Ammon, Nick (Michelle's husband) and I sang a song. I am so proud of Sydney for making this choice. Afterwords, we went down to Canyon View Park for a luncheon. It was really nice weather and so enjoyable to sit and eat yummy salads and visit with family. All in all a wonderful day and I want to thank everyone who came and contributed. I have the best Family and In-laws ever.
